Great show! I look forward to reading 90 Days in the 90s. In 1996 I was jamming to Bush, AIC, Soundgarden, and Goo Goo Dolls. That was a great time in my life. Thanks for keeping the 80’s and 90’s alive!

Another great episode Surely men! I love both albums but AIC would be my pick. Tragic premature endings to the vocalists for both groups. Keep up the good work!

Excellent episode today! The executive producer seemed to be slacking but everyone else was on point! The excesses of a rock and roll lifestyle took it’s toll on their talents but Core was beautifully done. Keep up the good work!

Great album! You guys nailed it and I agree with your assessment of the 2 skippers. Everything else is easy to enjoy. Thanks for choosing AIC to review, it’s hard to get enough of these guys. Good job Jason, Dee, and James!

Loved the background story of AIC! I am really looking forward to the track by track episode. Keep up the good work!

A Fun Blast From The Past
What a great trip to the movies of my childhood! Love the hosts and the conversations with their guests. They really breakdown these classics and I absolutely how much I learn listening. Highly recommend. - Danielle, No More Late Fees

I saw Jaws the Revenge in the theater and was not too disappointed. Ellen Brody did a decent job, I wish Martin Brody would’ve been in the movie. Mario Van Peeble’s Jamaican accent was comical. The action scenes sucked and the storyline had many holes in it.

I was thoroughly entertained by Prey as well as your podcast. The details in the movie down to the alien’s antiquated armor and weaponry was genius. A movie with so little dialogue was surprisingly good. The girl was perfectly cast as the heroine.

Citizens! I love both of these movies. The podcast was informative and entertaining. Keep up the good work.

I agree with the hosts that Whitesnake was much better than Girls, Girls, Girls. The Crue can light their white Johnsons on fire and I wouldn’t care. Thanks for another great show, now I must return to my marble arch.

Whitesnake killed it in the late 80’s! Everything from Slide It In and their self titled album kicked the crap out of the competition. I enjoyed the podcast very much. Good job Dee & Jason!

Childhood nostalgia at its best!
This is a “must subscribe” for anyone that grew up in the 80s. It’s such a great mix of music and film that seems to touch on every weekend of my 1980’s life, and those were the best of times! All of the episodes are home runs, even the ones that I’m not interested in at the outset. It’s been great to go back and watch a lot of the movies discussed with my late-teenage boys so that I get to share the best parts of my teenage years with them. I’m so glad that I found this podcast and I love sharing it with friends and then reminiscing with them each week!

I was a huge Def Leppard fan beginning with High and Dry. Pyromania and Hysteria are 2 of the greatest albums of the 80’s. I got to see them in 1983, 1987, 2003, and 2014. The first time I saw them in San Diego Rick Allen had both arms. One of the better concerts I ever attended was Def Leppard and Tesla at Lloyd Noble in 1987. Great show guys!

I enjoyed the show and learned a lot more than I knew about all 3 movies. Thanks for teaching me valuable knowledge! You guys are super entertaining.

The Best Gen-X Nostalgia Pod
Hands down the best 80s/90s podcast out there. Fun and incredibly well-researched conversations about movies and music - including tons of great shows pitting two classics against each other. If you’re a GenXer or live that era, this is a must-listen.

Good podcast! I look forward to seeing the movie. Prayers for Caleb’s head and Jason’s stones. Keep up the great work.

Writing checks the podcast can’t cash!
This podcast is like a warm hug of nostalgia every week! 80s and 90s movies, music and pop culture! If it’s time to schedule your first colonoscopy, you’ll love this podcast! I especially recommend the episodes where they go track by track on Pearl Jam and Nirvana! High-quality well researched stuff!

Macho Effort DD v. SNF
Dee and Jason, Just when I thought an idea couldn’t be any dumber, you go and do something like this … and totally redeem yourself! Loved the back stories on the movies, and the timing with Jennifer Grey’s memoir (Jason - it’s French, pronounced mim-wah) was uncanny. Learned a ton for sure. As a hair band fan of the 80’s, I gulp hard before admitting that I both owned that cassette tape and loved it. I can still sing every word on the album and was ready to spike the football declaring that one the winner. But, I stuck around for the finale. Why? Well, it should be obvious, I carried a watermelon! I was listening while running, and by the fifth song, I physically shrugged mid-stride and audibly exclaimed, “you’ve gotta be kidding me!” This album just kept providing hit songs, and they are songs that have stood the test of time, which is hard to do with disco. I’m not sure if the end of episode four caused me to have a Night Fever because of running in 90 degree temperatures or the quality of both the album and the deep nuggets you guys were digging for 🤔. I have to think it was the latter. I still watch Dirty Dancing when it’s on, but now I’m going to have to check out the full Saturday Night Fever album. Great work guys!!

The metal hairbands of the 80’s had the market cornered but as we all know, nobody puts baby in a corner. Not my favorite music but my wife and daughters loved it. Great job on making this podcast a wonderful, learning experience. I had the time of my life listening to you guys.

I have seen both movies several times and they are not among my favorites. However, the podcast was very entertaining and I thoroughly enjoyed it. Both soundtracks were full of catchy tunes and the masses ate it all up. Good insight from Dee and Jason.

I appreciate the research that goes into each podcast. Keep up the good work.

A most excellent journey through my childhood, teenage, and college years.
Due to my job, I travel a lot, and as a result, I listen to a lot of podcasts. A few become favorites, but only one has become an absolute must-listen every week: Surely You Can’t Be Serious. It is an absolute blast every week to listen to Jason and Dee explore all the best in ‘70s, ‘80s, and ‘90s pop culture. Every episode is full of fun facts and obscure trivia that enrich the overall experience. The hosts themselves are obviously friends, and the show has such an easy, conversational tone that it’s easy to imagine yourself sitting at the local watering hole with them, debating the best Toto song. If podcasts were mountain ranges, SYCBS would be a Mt. Everest, with a few others reaching the heights of a Kilimanjaro and the rest left standing glumly on the Serengeti plains, hoping they themselves will one day reach those heights. Here’s to many more years of this fantastic podcast!

My type of podcast
